Earlier this week I talked about finding your own artistic style. But if you’re thinking right now,
Alright, you’ve shown me how to get a loom started, you’ve shown me many different weaving techniques, and I’d love to find my own style…but I just don’t know what to do next.
Well then you’re in luck because I’ve taken a few weeks to put together a Beginner’s Weaving Pattern just for you!
This pattern will take you step by step, with pictures, from the beginning of the weave all the way to the end. It will cover the following weaving techniques:
-
Plain Weave
-
Hem Stitch Weave
-
Soumak Weave
-
Forming a triangle
- Rya knots
And the best part is it’s FREE!!
All you have to do to get it is join my mailing list. Once you’re on my mailing list you’ll receive this pattern along with my new post notifications, shop discounts, and more.
Already on my mailing list? Great! Then this pattern will be waiting in your inbox!
Happy Weaving!

January 22, 2016 at 5:57 pmHi Claire, did you receive a confirmation email after signing up? I know sometimes the mailing system takes a few minutes, but if you didn’t get anything at all then that is odd. Let me know and I can look into it.

January 28, 2016 at 3:19 amHello, I have a similar problem, I received a confirmation email which had broken images so I wasn’t able to click on them to return to the site, and the pattern didn’t turn up. I have since received notifications for new posts, but I’d really love to try this pattern!

January 28, 2016 at 8:48 amHi Laura, if the images didn’t appear and you couldn’t click the link, I think it’s an email security issue. You should just have to put the email as a safe sender and then try clicking it again. If you’re still having trouble reply to the pattern email and I’ll see what I can do. Thanks!

January 28, 2016 at 2:32 pmHi Kate,
Thank you very much for responding so quickly. I’m afraid I didn’t receive a pattern email, only the one asking me to click to confirm I wanted to subscribe (which I couldn’t do but it seems to have subscribed me anyway, thankfully). I hope you manage to get it sorted, but there’s plenty on the site for me to check out in the meantime. Thank you for your hard work 🙂

January 30, 2016 at 12:22 pmHi Kate. I received a confirmation and was able to access the pattern with a code. I thought I’d be able to go back to it but instead I get directed to signing up again. I have received notifications of new posts so I don’t know what the glitch might be. Regardless, your creativity is inspiring!

April 8, 2016 at 3:12 amHi Kate,
Fantastic blog, I’m loving all your tips and advice, thank you so much. I signed up and received the subscription email, but would love the beginners pattern, which didn’t come through? My ready warped loom is looking at me longly hoping it’s not going to become a dust collector 😉
Thanks in advance.
Kate
April 8, 2016 at 9:32 amHi Jenna, I definitely don’t want your loom collecting dust! I just sent you an email with the details to access the pattern. Have a great day!

June 18, 2016 at 5:26 pmI am looking for a weaving pattern of a star of David in the center of a table runner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kate
June 19, 2016 at 8:37 pmI don’t know of any weaving patterns with the star of David, maybe try a web search for it? Or if you have tried this and can’t find anything, you could try weaving it from a picture. I posted a little on how I used a “cartoon” or image to follow as I wove to create a picture. You can read about it here https://www.theweavingloom.com/weaving-techniques-using-cartooning-to-weave-a-picture/
